Eurostruct served as general contractor for the renovation of the sanctuary at Sutton Place Synagogue, working with MBB Architects on the first phase of the congregation’s multi-phase master plan. The team updated the mid-century worship space while keeping the congregation’s schedule of services in mind. The centerpiece of the work was a new paneled ceiling, built to precise tolerances so recessed and track lighting could sit hidden within it. Above the bimah, Eurostruct framed and installed a color-tunable LED laylight that simulates daylight, and built the surrounding structure so a real skylight can be added in a later phase. The crew coordinated closely with the lighting and electrical trades to integrate a wireless control system designed to grow with future phases.
